




Romney C. Rogers started with Rogers, Morris & Ziegler LLP in 1978 and became a partner with the firm in 1981. He is proud to carry on the tradition of the firm started by his grandfather, Dwight L. Rogers, Sr., in 1925.
Mr. Rogers was born, raised and educated in Fort Lauderdale. He is a graduate of Rutgers University and received his law degree from Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law, as did the founding members of the firm.
He concentrates his practice in business transactions and trial practice in State and Federal Courts; real estate and commercial lending transactions; wills, trusts and probate, including probate litigation.
Mr. Rogers served as city attorney for the city of Oakland Park, Florida, from 1997-2002 and as Trustee/Secretary for the City of Fort Lauderdale Police and Fire Pension Fund. He is a member of the board of directors at Sun Trust Bank, Broward Housing Partnership, Inc., and chairperson of the Fort Lauderdale Mayor’s Prayer Breakfast Committee. In 2009, he was elected as a City Commissioner for the City of Fort Lauderdale from the district in which he grew up.
His community service also includes past chairman of Greater Fort Lauderdale Chamber of Commerce (2003); president of Fort Lauderdale Rotary Club (1986); president of Stranahan House, Inc. (1988); class V graduate of Leadership Broward and Class X for Leadership Florida; and the inaugural class of Lifework Leadership.
In addition, his service to the legal profession includes the board of governors for YLS of The Florida Bar and president of Broward County Bar YLS.
Mr. Rogers is a member of The Florida Bar, U.S. District Court for Southern and Middle Districts of Florida, U.S. Court of Appeal for Fifth and Eleventh Circuits, Georgia Bar Association and the Christian Legal Society, and currently holds an AV rating by the Martindale Hubbell peer review – the highest possible attorney rating for legal ability and ethical standards. He also is a trustee and deacon at the First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale and is a member of a number of community associations.
